FAQs

Questions about using hiking poles

My folding poles cannot be secured properly. The individual segments keep falling apart. What can I do?

This is usually because the fixing button has not yet fully engaged. The element with the fixing button is inside the top segment with the length scale and must be pulled out downwards. This requires some force as a spring resistance must be overcome - so pull firmly! The poles cannot be damaged in the process. The fixing button audibly clicks outwards as soon as the element has been fully extended.

My poles keep collapsing when I use them. How can I stop this?

If the length adjustment does not hold reliably, the quick release is probably not tight enough. Open the quick release and turn the black lock screw slightly clockwise. There should be noticeable resistance when closing the quick release.

My handle has come loose and is no longer connected to the folding stick. How can I reattach it?

The handle is only fixed by the quick release. You can simply slide it onto the pole segment from above and then secure it with the quick release.

The loop on my telescopic poles is too tight and the locking wedge cannot be pulled out. How can I adjust the loop?

In some cases, the fixing wedge is so tight that it cannot be released simply by pulling on the lower, loose end of the loop. In this case, it helps to gently press the fixing wedge down from above with your thumb while simultaneously pulling on the loose end of the loop.
